WORKSHOP: WOOL FELTED EGGS

Come join the party!  Learn the basics of needle felting and welcome spring by decorating your own wool eggs!

You will get 6 blank eggs to decorate.  Your instructor, Jessica, will be there to provide guidance and technical assistance for every step including the secret to getting the perfect shape on your designs. The eggs even come in their own colorful paper carton.

You will also be able to choose from an array of different essential oil scents to add to your creations. Wool is an incredible fiber and simply adding a few drops of essential oil to your diffusers provides an eco-friendly way to Freshen any space from a bathroom to an office, car, laundry hamper, or just bring a spring scent into your home.

All tools and materials will be provided including finger guards. 6 eggs and a carton are included in the class price, and additional eggs or round poms can be purchased for $2 each.  Strings will be available to turn your eggs into hanging ornaments.  3 felting Needless are included to take home.

Recommended for ages 10+.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  At least one adult per 4 children under 12.  Adult does not need to purchase a ticket to supervise child participants.

n this workshop Monarch Beauty Farm teaches the foundations of flower and leaf pressing to capture vibrant and beautifully preserved botanicals.

In this hands-on class, participants will create their own Floralscapes using hand-pressed flowers, grown locally, using sustainable farming practices. We'll use a 5x7 floating frame. You will take home a beautiful hanging botanical art piece you can display in your home or give as a gift to a loved one. All materials are included. You are welcome to bring a photo of your choice to personalize your floating frame. 

This workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes. No experience necessary. Grab your mom, a friend, celebrate a birthday or join the group. The event is BYOB and get 10% off at The Eco Flamingo store the day of the workshop!

Dive into the meditative world of knolling by creating a Trinket Shadow Box with Jessica of Round Two Upcycled Craft Parties!

Rather than focusing on learning a skill, you will have the opportunity to create a mindful display of color, texture & order. Calmly enjoy sifting through the piles of trinkets, oddities and discarded bits & bobs to arrange your perfect flat lay.

Your instructor, jessica, will provide all materials including a second-hand frame, backing paper, cordless glue gun & huge array or trinkets collected from people around the entire country. Also feel free to bring your own items to either add to your own display or drop in one of the boxes for future knollers to enjoy.

Class runs 2 hours and is recommended for ages 6+ (an adult must assist children under 12 with using their glue guns).

All tools and materials will be provided including finger guards. You will learn to create a sculpture and to decorate balls. A 2 ball hanger is included in the class price, and additional balls can be purchased for $2 each. Recommended for ages 10+.

In this 1-hour workshop, Claire Zawa will offer a few simple ways to strengthen the Gratitude & Joy muscles we all have! Here's what we'll do in this workshop:

- Learn a simple Breathing practice to center, ground, and be more present in the moment.

- Share a Snack: using all of our senses, eating can bring us into gratitude and joy

- Make a Gratitude or Joy Jar: bring your own empty, clean jar with lid or pick from the donation bin. We'll decorate a jar to fill with reminders of what we have to thankful for and for moments of joy in our daily lives. Crafting supplies will be provided, no artistic skills required!

Lead by Claire Zawa, Bring your own empty, clean jar or we'll have a selection of donated jars to choose from, along with a variety of decorations to make your Gratitude Jar all your own. In addition to creating your Jar, we'll spend time filling it with good vibes.

Intentionally focusing on the positives, joys, blessings, and things to be thankful for helps strengthen emotional well-being, build resilience, and counteract the mind's negativity bias. We know that focusing on the positives, joys, blessings, and things to be thankful for is good for us. But it isn't always easy, is it?

In this 1-hour workshop, Claire will offer a few simple ways to strengthen the gratitude muscle. Here's what we'll do:

- Gratitude or Joy Jar: cut, paste, color, tie! Decorate a jar to take home and fill with reminders of things that are good in your life. Bring your own empty, clean container (with lid) or pick from donated jars. Crafting supplies provided. No artistic skills needed for this!

- Breathing Meditation: We are always breathing, so learn a few simple ways to let the breath be a centering, grounding, and possibly even a calming tool in your toolbox for life.

- Snack Meditation: we'll use all of our senses to eat with intention and an attitude of gratitude.

Spend a little time with yourself, in community with others curious about tapping into more joy.

Make your holey sweaters wearable again with darning. Learn how to repair holes in knitwear by darning a hole by hand and with a Speedweve-style darning loom. This two hour class taught by Nandi of Bliss Joy Bull will guide you through the process of creating and darning a rectangular patch with yarn. You will learn the best tools and materials for repairing knitwear with darning. Bring your own wool or cashmere sweater with a 1” hole or smaller to repair!

Medium - chunky knit sweaters are preferred without intricate designs. Wool and cotton yarns and tools will be provided. If you don’t have a sweater to repair, Nandi will have knit swatches for practicing the techniques. 

Additionally, a darning loom will be available for use during class and can be purchased for $65.
